Vince, My source of will info of Nicholas Carper was contained in OVER THE MOUNTAIN MEN, by Anne Lowry Worrell in 1934 which gives a probate date of May 1813 in Botetourt Co. Names wife, Elizabeth; and ch Jacob; Benjamin; Elizabeth Harvey; Mary M'ferran; Joseph; Sally Holestine; and Isaac. >From this info, I would conclude that Elizabeth Harvey was the married child of Nicholas and Elizabeth Carper so your info that his wife was a Shrider could well be correct. Someone may have misread the will thus creating Elizabeth Harvey as Nicholas' wife. His dau, Elizabeth, married James Harvey 21 Jul 1790 in Botetourt Co.
