    3. Vince, Alkanah Washington "Cain" Carper was the oldest son of Nicholas (1799) and (2)Sarah (Nida) Carper. Cain was born 15 Oct 1839 after Nicholas & Sarah were married in Giles Co., VA 25 Oct. 1837. Cain had nine siblings. This Nicholas was first married to Lydia Smith 17 Apr 1826 and died in the childbirth of her son, Fleming H. Carper abt. 1828. I was probably the person who sent you info on this family as they are in my book, The Family von Nida.
