Must be another county. That makes it harder. I will talk to my mother-in-law some more. Vince SA1949@aol.com wrote: > > Vince > I have the three marriage books for Craig Co, done by Ruth G. This may be beyond the scope of Craig County. It may incorporate other counties. But it has to do with a claim or claims of my mother in law. She has usually been right! First, Frank Spottswood CARPER born Dec. 20, 1880. Married to Fleta B. ROWAN on Nov. 6, 1901. They had 3 kids (if more, let me know), one of whom was: Dollie A. Carper (was this Dolly?) Now, she claims that Dolly married a Clarence BUNCH, brother of John Anderson Bunch (Charlottesville City Directories list John as John H. Bunch twice, making me think it may be John HENDERSON Bunch). But I have Dolly DIXON married a Clarence BUNCH. Was Dolly DIXON an earlier marriage of Dolly CARPER to a Mr. DIXON? Thank you for any help folks. You have been good to me in the past. I know you always try to help out. I think Craig County is a nice and close community. Vince
Vince I have the three marriage books for Craig Co, done by Ruth G. Hale and I can not find a marriage of any kind for a Dolly Carper or a Dollie Carper. Steve

The following files were uploaded to the Craig Co. Archives in July. You may view these files at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/va/craig.htm OH NO! There WERE no new files uploaded during July! Won't you please consider preserving & sharing your treasured documents by submitting a transcription of your own? What a wonderful way to show pride in your heritage while insuring these resources will still be around for future generations! Any help you are able to provide would be deeply appreciated. Hello. I think people do not understand what you are saying. Do you mean you wish the Page Owner to unsubscribe that address from their mailing list? If so, you can do that yourself by sending an email from that address to: VACRAIG-L-request@rootsweb.com and putting the word unsubscribe in the subject header. If, on the other hand, you are telling individuals to remove your name from their personal address books on their computers at their homes or businesses, that is another thing. Which would you mean? Vince
What a marvelous package I received in the mail yesterday! I will tell you the name of the sender, and the contents, tonight, but it was fabulous. From France up through my wife's line. If they do not already have a set of these papers, I would like to donate a copy, in the sender's name (I could shoot myself, because I can't think of his name now!), to the Craig County Historical Society. Will someone provide me the proper address, and should I make it attention Grace Eakins? Vince
Please remove this address from your address book: sjones6019@aol.com
please delete my e-mail address from all of your address books.
Hello all, While this is not of a genealogical nature I feel I want to let you know about a problem I had on Sunday July 11th with my email. About 10:00 am Sunday morning I read my email and shut down to go to church. About 9:00 pm that evening I went back online to read mail and you can imagine my horror when I discovered all my email had been deleted (at any given time I keep 10-12 emails as new to refer back to), all my old mail and all my sent mail had also been deleted. Instead of my usual genealogy emails I had a horrible birage of what I call "garbagy smut". According to AOL, somehow someone got a hold of my password (I have never given it to anyone, not even my husband) and went in and changed my profile so that it indicated I wanted to receive this kind of trash. This person then sent trash to others using my screen name. AOL was notified by some of the recipients of this so they sent me a letter of warning (and rightfully so-they also deleted my profile thank goodness). My reason for telling you all this is threefold-one as a warning-I still am not sure what caused this, however, AOL says it possibly came in on an attachment from someone as a "Trojan Horse" thereby causing someone to be able to gain access to my password. They warned to make sure before you open an attachment you know the sender. Sorry to say our world has come to this. Second is that if anyone wrote to me on Sunday July 11th I dare say I did not receive it! Who knows what was deleted! And third is I pray no one on any of the mailing lists I belong to received any garbage from my screen name (Rootdiggr2@aol.com) but if by some chance you did, please know that it was not I who sent it and I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you for listening to me! Melinda Roles Jacquier P.S. If you belong to more than one mailing list you will probably get this letter more than once-sorry!
No Children. Troy G. Carper, Nephew, living with them in 1910 Census. Troy aged 14 at that time. According to the 1910 Census (as I read it, Vincent E. Summers), they were only married 12 years at the time, not 16. Miles O. Carper was the son of Wm.L. & Mollie J. Carper. His marriage license indicates that he was 22y.3m. on Oct 31, 1894, born and resided in Craig Co. They were married at the home of the bride's parents.- Jack Nida Jonesboro, GA ----- Also, anyone know if Nannie Jane LIPES & husband Miles O. CARPER had any children?
Here are my notes on the gravestone of Nannie Jane LIPES Stone made of gradually flaking aggregate. In Chestnut Grove Church Cemetery, rt. 42, New Castle, VA area. Vince
