I may have just accidentally sent notification of a card to this list that I meant to send only to email lists that I host. My daughter came in here while I was trying to do this & I clicked on the wrong button. I tried to stop it, but I'm not sure I made it in time. However, I do wish you all a joyous season & you are most welcome to go and view the card, just keep in mind that it's from me personally then, rather than as the listowner. My apologies to the listowners of these lists; I wish I could get them back, but it's too late. Sorry :) Jeannie ************* Jeannie Watts Now Available: "The Descendants of John Thomas Clay, Jamestown Immigrant and son of Sir John Clay of Wales" Also available: "The Descendants of James Bailey & Lucy Simms" For more info: http://www.trellis.net/users/madamx

According to the Family Search website, my great-grandfather, Henry Hendrickson was born in John's Creek, Craig, Virginia. I would like to know where John's Creek is in Craig County. Also if anyone else is researching Hendricksons I would love to hear from them. On the website it gives Henry's name as Henry Harrison Hendrickson. Patrick County Va site http://www.rootsweb.com/~vapatric has been updated with the help of Bobby Wood. I have 2 years of Census 1880 & 1910 that will be added in the NEAR future. Patrick County is now a user friendly site, where you can add your family HISTORY such as WILLS, PENSION records, DEEDS, BIOS, QUERIES, BIBLE records, OBITS. You may also search the web for your surname by using the Patrick County RESOURCE page. For Your reading pleasure and aid in your research all the archived queries remain on the site. If you see a bad address or a broken link, as always please let me hear. I am here for you, and now with Bobby's help, and all of you, this can be one of the best Virginia Counties on Rootsweb. I am so pleased with the outcome of this, that i wanted to share our NEW LOOK. Rena cc Patrick County.
Hi, Folks... It is that time! That time for another request for photos for my Craig County In-and-Out of Town Graves Site! Yes, I request that more photos of former residents of Craig County be either scanned and emailed to me (preferable!) or snail mailed to me, with the understanding that I will do my ^(^&&*%* to take good care of them and send them back to you as soon as possible, after I scan them, and put them on my page: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Fields/3270/ I only have ever been to the county once, but I really enjoyed both the people, and the place. I hope those of you who met me also liked me! Good health to you! Vince

Are there field stones with initials or dates? Are there any remains of an old house nearby? The James L. Bowen you've listed is the grandson of John and Elizabeth. James' father, also James, inherited the homestead when John and Elizabeth died. He signed an agreement with his parents in 1823 to take care of them until they died. In return he received the homestead. Since his son is buried in that cemetery, it is most likely that the older James is as well. And, it is also likely that John and Elizabeth also were buried there. Most family cemeteries were established within walking distance of the house. I am going to have to visit there, I guess. Perhaps within the next couple of weeks if the weather holds. 'Tis a long drive from Woodbridge, VA, but the possibilities make the trip worth undertaking. In addition to the above questions, can anyone provide specific directions to the cemetery? Semper Fi - Bob Bowen in Woodbridge, VA -- Protect our Flag --------------3C54B4279C8395128E72BDFB--

Bob I am posting the Bowen Cemetery on Rt 621 in Craig County. the copy that I have was done by Wilma Dunlap and it can be found at this address. http://www.genexchange.com/va/index.cfm then click on Craig County there are other cemeterys there and more are being added. Steve Taylor
Bob The only directions given on the sheet I have state that the cemetery is located on the Joyce Farm on State Hughway 621, 10 miles West of Highway 311. I am sorry that I can't tell just where it is located or just how many marked or unmarked graves are there as I have not been in it yet. Steve

The Francisco Cemetery only has 2-3 graves. last time i was there. so i dont believe they are the same place. I do not have the information on the Bowen Cemetery. Maybe Steven can help you. or have you looked at my Craig County GenExchange website. http://www.GenExchange.com look at USGenExchange and choose Virginia, Craig County. There are many new Entries there. as we can more will be entered. This is a user friendly site, and I welcome any and all entries. If you have information, and dont have time to enter it, send it and i'l do what i can to get a volunteer to enter it. We have put in about 1800 entries this month. I hope someone will find something useful there. and i want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has took time out of a busy life to put in those names. Rena
>all it says is Bown (sic) J., died 6 Aug 1865 > >I tried to get to your site and could not as I was not a member. >Steve Steve, That J. Bown is either my ancestor James Bowen or his son John. I will have to get into my file and check some dates. This is definitley the cemetery I was looking for. Does it have any graves with unlettered fieldstones? I was not aware that only att members could access my homepage. No one has mentioned that to me before. Many thanks. Virginia Visit my Home Page http://home.att.net/~virginiab/index.html
Steve, Many thanks for the Bowen and Francisco information. James L. Bowen was the son of James, my ancestor. Who was the Bown in this cemetery? You should be able to access my home page even tho you are not an att member. It describes the books I have published, one is on the Francisco Family of Craig Co.
