Thanks for the information. I guess I had better buy the book. trouble is that there were 3 branches of Spencers in the county. One old Tom who md Eliz Julia Flournoy and furnished 4 to the Revolution Sion, john, Thomas Jr. and Henry slave holding families, and Presbyterian. Mine James who died in 1782, had John Thomas, Willliam W. and Charles non slave owners and staunch baptists. and James father John who was living with old thomas in 1764 in Lunenberg who had James, Richard etc. No wonder you found so many. My John son of James md into the Fletcher family and named his first daughter Susannah after James Fletchers second wife. Thanks again Fran
