Karen and Anne, Have a little bit of information concerning Jacksons, Richardsons, Garnetts that I have come across in my ancestor search. Don't know how relevant it is to you but it may stimulate some conversation. Obadiah Claybrook married Sarah Richardson, the daughter of John Richardson and Mary Curd. (from a genforum post in Claybrooks) Josiah Jackson purchased 106 acres of land from William Fears in 1799 (Prince Edward County Deed Book 8 page 223 and 224). Elizabeth Jackson is listed as granddaughter to James Fears of St. Patrick Parrish in his will written in 1797 proved 1804 (Prince Edward County Will Book 3 page circa 356 or so. Give or take 30 pages. Can't recall right now exact page number) As for Garnetts, I have a Robert E. Garnett, son of Edwin L. Garnett who married Isabella Fears March 6, 1870 in Charlotte County, Virginia. Again don't know how relevant to you but maybe someone else recognizes these names and can add to it. I am looking for anyone who might relate to Lewis JACKSON d. 1795 (apparently intestate- inventory done in 1795- and guardians for 6 children in 1795). Lewis Jackson m. Frances RIchardson in Cumberland Co in 1762. Most of the RIchardson's moved to Charlotte. Lewis was born as son of Ralph and Obedience JACKSON (d. 1774/6 Chesterfield Co). I have identified 7 of Lewis' children but given that a number were minors in 1795, and the couple had married in 1762, there should be older children as well. I'd like to "talk" with any Jackson's, Richardson's, Harvey's, Hamlett's in Charlotte Co VA in mid to late 1700's. Direct lines are Lewis Jackson and Frances Richardson. Thomas B.W..Harvey (son of Capt. John) and Barbara WAlton Thier daughter, Polly Harvey m. 1804 to Ralph Jackson (son of Lewis- they were first cousins, as Thomas B.W. Harvey's mother, Ann Richardson Harvey, is the sister of Frances Richardson Jackson). Ralph and Polly Harvey Jackson's son, Francis Hester Jackson m. Sarah Hamlett in 1846. Have lines and happy to share info. Looking for info on Lewis Jackson's other children, IN 1782 tax list he has 12 tithables.
