Gordie, Thank you. It does make sense. I THINK the Elizabeth Jackson referred to in the will of Mr. Fears was most likely Elizabeth Pamplin/Pamplett (seen it both ways.) Her father is William Pamplin, but I have no name for her mother. To the best of my knowledge, she is the mother of Josiah Jackson and wife of Hezekiah Jackson. If her mother was a Fears, then she would be the granddaughter of James Fears. It would be logical for Josiah to be buying land from a close relative, whether that was a cousin or uncle, I'm not sure. Hezekiah was married to Elizabeth in 11 Nov 1761 in Prince Edward Co VA and died before 1777 in Charlotte Co VA. If Elizabeth had been left land or inherited it through deaths of others, Josiah may have been making a purchase of part of his mother's legacy. Elizabeth apparently lived until after 1810, but I have no death date for her. This is not my direct line. Joseph, (father of Hezekiah- father of Josiah m. elizabeth Madison) is the brother of my Ralph Jackson m. Obedience __ (Probably Lewis). Thanks for correction. Will make change. If you know of a Fears/Pamplin or Pamplett marriage, let me know and I'll add it to the tree.
