    3. Hi Ward, Interesting. Do you suppose that a lab would be able to run a DNA sample on my husband which would answer the question regarding the history that he is an Abenaki native (he prefers Indian). The tribe is ready to acept him but the rest of the family says no. I think he's right. I'm relatively sure that my Colberts of VA are part of same group that lead the Choctaw from 1760's through current times as well, although they have no knowledge of Levi's brother Lemuel. I'm not worried about it, but Ron would like to know if his grandfather, who claimed to be Abenaki in 1948 was telling the truth. The trive was the only tribe to formally join the Americans in the Rev. WAr. They had thier own Capt. They hated the British so much due to George Rodgers Clark's raids on their village. I guess they didn't realize that George Rodgers Clark left a bunch of descendats and cousins in this country, and they too fought the Bristish. Odd, huh. Thank you for your history. I''m still chasing those Richardsons, Harvey's, Madison's etc in Henrico/Charlotte and other counties.
