Has anyone sorted out the DAVIS's in Prince Edward and Charlotte Co? My DAVIS's were in Prince Edward. Stephen, who died 1781, bought land in Prince Edward in 1771. In this deed he is said to be of Hanover Co. Stephen was also deeded land in Charlotte Co by a John DAVIS of Hanover Co. in 1779 wherein the deed states that Stephen is of Prince Edward Co. Stephen DAVIS was married to Elizabeth. They had four children: William, who is deceased in Stephen Davis will, Nicholas who was married to Lucy JONES, William Henry who married Elizabeth SPENCER (my line), and Sarah who married a GILCHRIST.
