>Hi, > >I just subscribed not long ago and am trying to get my ducks in a row to >come to >the courthouse. I live in NC but my relatives there are McKenney, Cardwell, >Michaux, LaGrand. I would like to hear from anyone related to those families. > >ALSO I noticed on a map that a county to the NE of Charlotte has the town of >McKenney. Can anyone tell me about it? > >Denise Wood Dear Denise: In my family research I have run across your names. My ancestor Joseph WOOD married Martha EPPERSON, dtr of Francis EPPERSON. Martha's brother Thomas, married Martha CARDWELL, dtr of John and Kezia Lowe CARDWELL. John is brother to Richard Ambrose CARDWELL, who, from your list of surnames, I assume would be your ancestor. Later down the line, William Edward WOOD (b. 1858 Botetourt Co.) married Mary Sue MCKENNEY (b. 1875 Amherst Co., VA). She was the daughter of Thomas Luther McKENNEY and Mary Elizabeth JONES. Mary Sue had brother's Robert Joel, Thomas Luther, John Wheeler. Francis EPPERSON, father of Martha and Thomas, is said to have married a CARDWELL, but I have found no proof.
