Need help on Gayle line. Thomas Gayle who died 1824 in Charlotte Co. is said to have had brothers Matthew, Robert and George. Some of Thomas' descendants went to Rutherford Co., TN. William Gayle married Sarah Harris in 1823 in Rutherford Co. and Frances Gayle married William Todd LeGrand in Rutherford Co. in 1829. It is thought that William and Frances were sons of John Gayle who died in York Co., VA, in 1812. According to a Charlotte Co. VA deed, Thomas Gayle bought land in 1799 from John Gayle of York Co., VA. Was John Gayle a possible 4th brother to Thomas Gayle? Any help appreciated. Thanks, jean gayle
