ARCHDALE - Mrs. Ethel Willard Hoover, 93, of Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 118 Englewood Drive, died July 20, 2001, at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born Dec. 7, 1907, in Carroll County, Va., a daughter of the late Oliver and Caroline Powell Willard. A resident of Archdale most of her life, she was a retired employee of Loflin Hosiery Mill and was a member of Archdale Church of the Nazarene. She was married to Fred D. Hoover, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a son, R.A. Hoover. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Jewell Hoover of Archdale; one brother, Oliver Willard Jr. of Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Nance of Trinity, Mrs. Gladys Shook of Jamestown and Mrs. Irene May of Burlington; two grandchildren, Kay Sheets and Karla Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Danielle Sheets, Zachary Brown and Hilary Brown. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Bill Sessoms. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, and other times at the home of Jewell Hoover, 118 Englewood Drive, Archdale.
