Galax Gazette Ralph Eugene Pilkenton, 49, of Rugby, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at his home. He was born July 10, 1951, in North Wilkesboro, N.C., to James and Minnie Broyhill Pilkenton. Survivors include his wife, Helen Jean Pilkenton of the home; a daughter, Darlene Lloyd of Albermarle, N.C.; a son, Scott Pilkenton of Albermarle, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Ladowna Jean Gentry of Mount Airy, N.C., and Lea Pilkenton of Moravian Falls, N.C.; a stepson, Rodger Lee Mullins of Elkin, N.C.; his mother, Minnie Brown of Concord, N.C.; four sisters, Mary Bradford, Zella Barringer, both of Concord, N.C., Dolly Holland of Moravian Falls, N.C., and Carolyn Hollman of Todd, N.C.; three brothers, Edward Pilkenton, Millard Pilkenton and Albert J. Pilkenton, all of Moravian Falls, N.C.; five grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. A funeral will be held today, Friday, at 2 p.m. at Corinth Cemetery, Rugby with the Dusty Reedy and Jim Brown officiating. Mr. Coe was a World War II Veteran and a charter member of the Sylvatus Ruritan Club. Survivors include his wife, June Worrell Coe of the home; eight children and their spouses, Susan and Dennis Epperly of Montvale, Shirley and Jerry Templeton and Katy and Milton Cochran, all of Sylvatus, Mary and Rodney Combs of Cana, Franklin and Brenda Coe and David and Linda Coe, all of Hillsville, Charles and Shirley Starr of Lynchburg and Richard and Bertie Startt of Mount Airy, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Thursday at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home with burial in the Joshua Worrell Cemetery. Pastor Danny Phillips officiated. Military rites were conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. ----------------------------------------- Hazel Reavis Wilson, 95, of Galax, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Waddell Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 26, 1905, in Virginia to the late Joe and Laura Ziegler Reavis. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Joyce Wilson Clark of Galax; grandchildren and their spouses, Gaye Wilson and Mark Keller, Sylvia Wilson and Sean Burns and Page and April Wilson; great-grandchildren, Scott Keller, Sarah Keller, Ryan, Christopher and Matthew Burns and Braun and Trace Wilson; a sister, Mary Cochran of Hillsville; two sisters-in-law, Lena Edwards of Hillsville and Delle Reavis of Bristol; and a brother-in-law, Delmar Wilson of Radford. She was preceded in death by a son, Joe David Wilson. A funeral was held Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with burial in the Felts Memorial Cemetery.
