She was born May 3, 1912, in Carroll County to Roby Burnett and Ocie Sizemore Burnett. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Viola and Edward Delp of Hickory, N.C., and Ellen and Ronald Whitaker of Lubbock, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Midge Morris of Galax; three sisters, Dorothy Bowers, Viola Lam and Mary Cox, all of Galax; a brother, Roy Burnett of Galax; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Nina and Herbert Blankenship of Roanoke, Wanda and James King of Pulaski, Deborah Marshall of Hillsville, Douglas Tipton of Dugspur and Bayne and Marlene Tipton of Cana; three sisters, Zelpha Henley of Roanoke, Elda Nester of Radford and Ilean Henley of Salem; seven grandchildren, Teresa Walker, Melissa Blankenship, Patricia Harris, Sherry McMillian, Darrell Tipton, Michelle Hash and LaTawnya Burleson; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew Blankenship, Dakota Key, Taylor Burleson, Kean Key, Logan Harris and Jesse Burleson.
