Martinsville Bulletin Carl L. Hill Sr. Carl Lee Hill Sr., 73, of Stuart, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. He was born in Carroll County, son of the late Claude and Crosby Stanley Hill. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Leonard Hill. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic and later went to work for the U.S. Postal Service, from which he retired. More recently, he had worked as a real estate appraiser. Surviving are his wife, Alese Roberson Hill of the home; a son, Carl Lee Hill Jr. of Bristol, Tenn.; two brothers, Joseph Hill of Stuart and Hugh Hill of Pulaski; two sisters, Betty Sue Barnard of Amelia and Nellie Hill of Stuart; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stuart Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens with military rites rendered by the Patrick County Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, where arrangements are being handled. Other times friends will be received at the home.
