    3. Carroll County was not formed until 1842 so you will have to look in Grayson or Patrick Counties for someone getting married in Carroll before that time. I looked in my Patrick Co. Marriages 1791-1850 and did not find them. And did not find them in my Carroll/Grayson Marriage book either. I did find George Lawson as a surety in the marriage of Edmond Lawson and Elizabeth South in the Carroll/Grayson book: "Bond 1833-28: June 20, 1833: Edmond Lawson and Elizabeth South; George Lawson, surety. Bond 1833-29: Aug. 21, 1833: Edmond Lasson and Elesebeth South, daughter of David; George Lasson, surety. Return not found." 3. A George Lawson is listed as a tax payer, March 13, 1815. Listed with 1 male over 16, 1 horse, and 1 head of cattle. Reuben Lawson listed on muster rolls of Capt. William Bobbitt's Company, Randolph listed in Capt. Jonathan Isham's company, Reuben is listed there also. I did not find any Lawsons in 1850 Carroll Co. Census, in 1850 Grayson Census, Edmund, two Stephens and William Lawson listed.
