TRINITY - JD Chaney, 68, of 7293 U.S. 62 died Aug. 8, 2001, at his residence. He was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Carroll County, Va., a son of the late Roosevelt and Ora Frye Chaney. He was a retired employee of Carsons Inc. On Nov. 18, 1951, he married the former Jearlene (Jerri) Shipwash, who survives of the home. Also surviving are a son, Eli Chaney of 2809 Kinley Trail, Archdale; a daughter, Mrs. Danny (Candis) Owens of Lexington; two brothers, Raeford Chaney of Archdale and Allen Chaney of Ocean Isle; four sisters, Mrs. Magdalene Foster, Mrs. Silvia Warren and Ms. Brenda Farabee of Thomasville and Mrs. Frondy Webster of Archdale; five grandchildren. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale by the Rev. Richard Shoemaker. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
