GALAX GAZETTE Thomas Hale Carrico, 91, of Fries, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Twin County Regional Hospital. He was the widow of Peggy Carrico. He was born Sept. 21, 1909, in Grayson County to Robert lee and Mary Ann Mallory Carrico. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Duane King of Newton, N.C., and Peggy Ann and Joe Boyer of Fries; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Friday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with burial in the Mallory Cemetery. The Rev. Gloria Lancaster Rhudy officiated.Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ======== Cheryle Anne Edwards, 46, of Woodlawn, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Woodlawn. She was born Aug. 23, 1954, in Radford to Elmon and Rita Picard Edwards. Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Suite; her parents, Elmon and Rita Edwards of Woodlawn; a brother, Terry Edwards of Fredericksburg; one niece; and one nephew. A funeral will be held today, Monday, at 2 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Fain will officiate.
