Wednesday, September 26, 2001 Galax Gazette Ethel Gallimore, 70, of Hillsville, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at her home. Survivors include her husband, Clinton Gallimore of the home; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Daisy and Gary Gravley and Wanda and Clifton Nester, all of Hillsville, Anita and Carlie Pearman of Ivanhoe, and Debbie Lauze of Austinville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Buck and Lynn Gallimore of Hillsville and Ricky and Sarah Gallimore of Galax; a brother, Robert Harrison of Austinville; a sister, Jane Sutphin of Dublin; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at Round Knob Church of Christ with burial in the Round Knob Cemetery. Billy Boy, Jack King and Lowell Altizer will officiate. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ======== Roy Lee Smith, 49, of Galax, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Twin County Regional Hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1952, in Grayson County to Sidney Robinson Smith and Maggie Melton Smith. Survivors include his wife, Mary Smith of Galax; a daughter, Holly Mae Smith of South Hill; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl Wade and Erin Smith of Mocksville, N.C.; a sister, Sue E. Hazlewood of South Hill; two brothers, Danny R. Smith of Norfolk and Charles Teddy Smith of Galax; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren with burial in the church cemetery in Lexington, N.C. Pastor Mark Craddock and Gary Allen will officiate.
