    2. Galax Gazette Friday, September 21, 2001 Amanda S. Brown, 80, of Lake City, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Lake City Extended Care. She was the widow of Roy H. Brown. She was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Johnson City, Ga., to John L. and Maggie Bell Smith Stewart. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley B. and Richard Thomas of Lake City, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Wayne H. and Debbie Brown of Howell, Mich.; a sister, Pearl Veal of Rincon, Ga.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home with burial in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The Revs. Wayne Brown and Ted Bartlett will officiate. ====== Jennie Vea Gambill Dominquez, 51, of Galax, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She was born in Sparta, N.C., on July 29, 1950 to Serbert and Pearl Bryant Gambill. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Dominques of Galax; two sons, Joe Jackson Gambill and Sylvester Monroe Jackson, both of Galax; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Evangelist Mabel and Steve Bryson and Patricia and Carol Lineberry, all of Galax, and Carolyn and Nathaniel Stout of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a brother and sisters-in-law, David and Evangelist Juanita Gambill, Debra Gambill and Judy Gambill, all of Galax; and Charity Gambill of Sparta, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and three God-children. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with burial in White Plains Cemetery in Sparta, N.C. Pastor Ethlene Bryant, Bishop E.D. Bryant, Elder Mike Davis, R.C. Bryant, Raymond Brown Jr. and Pastor Johnny Scott will officiate. ====== Ila Ruth Edwards Cox, 86, of Danville, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at her home. She was the widow of Ralph R. Cox. She was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Carroll County to Daniel and Zelipha Bedsaul Edwards. Survivors include two sons, Bennie T. Cox of Yanceyville and John T. Cox of Richmond; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held Thursday at the Oakland United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. McCloud, 66, of Traphill, N.C., died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax. He was born April 2, 1935, in Meadowview to Luther and Faye Ellis McCloud. Survivors include his wife, Mary Edith McCloud of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Wayne and Shirly McCloud of Lake Norman, N.C., and Michael Bryant McCloud of Bristol, Tenn.; one daughter, Kathy Lynn Frazier of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Hilda McCloud of Bell Brook, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Mark Black of Mount Airy, N.C.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral will be held today, Friday, at 11 a.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with burial in the Blackwell Chapel Cemetery, Meadowview at 3 p.m. ====== Jane M. Trent, 51, of Galax, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at her home. She was born June 20, 1950, in Winston-Salem, N.C., to Robert and Rita Shinault Beck. Survivors include her husband, Charles P. Trent of the home; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Ruth E. and David Jones of Newport News, Betty Bryant, Helen and Calvin Nichols and Mary and Aubery Smith, all of Mount Airy, N.C., and Eunice Ward of Lambsburg; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Pauline Beck of Lambsburg; her mother-in-law, Eileen Trent of Woodlawn; two sisters-in-law, June G. Howard of Hampton and Vada I. Grimes of Galax; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held today, Friday, at 2 p.m. at Monta Vista Cemetery. The Rev.
