Galax Gazette Wednesday, September 19, 2001 Lundy B. Davis, 71, of Mouth of Wilson, the Rugby Community, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at the Veterans Hospital, Johnson City, Tenn. He was born April 15, 1930, in Mouth of Wilson to Charlie and Vergie Little Osborne Davis. Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pauline and James C. Smith of Bel Air, Md., and Ora Lee Pugh of Elkton, Md.; one brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Linda Sue Davis of Piney Creek, N.C.; three nephews; and one niece. A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Haw Orchard Baptist Church, Rugby, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. She was born Jan. 13, 1938, in Crooms, Fla., to Leander and Mazelle Thorne Hall. Survivors include her husband, James D. Johnson of the home; her mother, Mazelle Hall of Troutdale; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Ann Johnson of Mouth of Wilson and Jerry and Pam Johnson of Galax; a special son, Bill Kitner of Independence; two daughters, Linda K. Johnson and Shelby J. Hollinger, both of Independence; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Hobert and Trish Hall and Bobby and Roxie Hall, all of Troutdale; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella Mae and Ronnie Frye of Troutdale, Marie and Larry Peak of Volney and Clara and Lee Gullion of Atkins; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Green Hill Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Green Hill Cemetery.
