I know Dad was arrested and jailed sometime in 1931(when I was up to six months old) and got out sometime in late 1931 or early 1932. I don't know what he was jailed for. Also, I believe he was arrested when he was between 16 and 18 for shooting across a county road and perhaps more. A couple of family members say Dad didn't tell the whole story about this incident and claim that in addition to shooting across a county road, he shot the sheriff's horse with him on it and then went to Cosely Goad's, borrowed his horse and rode back to West Virginia where he was working. Per those relatives, he finally hired a lawyer and paid a substantial fine so as to come back to Carroll county to visit his sisters. ???????? Tom
