    1. Re: [VACARROL] Elizabeth OGLE wife of William JENNINGS 1750-1843
    2. Teri, Elizabeth Ogle, born 05MAR1761 in New Castle Co, DE, was a daughter of Thomas Ogle (25JUL1721-1803) and Elizabeth Robeson (b. 1721). James Ogle (10NOV1770 - abt1855), who married Hannah Brown, was also the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Robeson) Ogle. The Ogles have confused a lot of researchers because Thomas was the son of John and Elizabeth (Robinson) Ogle and John was the son of John and Elizabeth (Hicks) Ogle. It's easy to get lost among the Elizabeth's. Thomas came to VA in 1763 but reportedly, Indian troubles caused them to move to Rowan Co, NC. In 1789, he bought land in (then) Montgomery Co, VA which eventually became Carroll. His home was on what is today the "Waterplant Road" in north Hillsville. His will was proven in March Court of 1803. Several of his children moved west into Tennessee where there are scads of Ogles and into Indiana where there is an Ogle county today. I am not an Ogle researcher and I'm sure there are many out there somewhere much more qualified than I to relate the Ogle history. Ron, Do you have any dates for the other Elizabeth OGLE JENNINGS, the one who married William JENNINGS 1750-1843, and who was the mother of the Jonathan JENNINGS who married Nancy HENSON? Also, how were they related? (I have that Elizabeth's father as Thomas OGLE, but I don't know how Thomas OGLE and James OGLE were related.) 2. Louise, I believe that is correct; Thomas Jennings (b. abt 1804) was the son of Jonathan and Nancy (Henson) Jennings. I don't have a death date for him. Elizabeth Ogle was the daughter of James and Hannah (Brown) Ogle. She married 04APR1822 in Grayson. She was born about 1802 and probably died about 1866 because Thomas remarried Frances White 23MAY1867. I show 10 children for them, but am not sure it is a complete list. I have that James HENSON & Hannah PHILLIPS were married 12 Apr 1793 in Pittsylvania Co., VA., which is only 6 years before Nancy HENSON and Jonathan JENNINGS were married. 180. Jonathan Jennings, born 1780. He was the son of 360. William Jennings and 361. Elizabeth Ogle. He married 181. Nancy Henson July 1803. 181. Nancy Henson She was the daughter of 362. James Henson and 363. Hannah Phillips. 362. James Henson, born 1773; died 1830. He married 363. Hannah Phillips. 363. Hannah Phillips She was the daughter of 178. Tobias Phillips and 179. Margaret Jennings. There seems to be a generational problem here. Are the links wrong, or the dates? -- Teri

Ron, Do you have any dates for the other Elizabeth OGLE JENNINGS, the one who married William JENNINGS 1750-1843, and who was the mother of the Jonathan JENNINGS who married Nancy HENSON? Also, how were they related? (I have that Elizabeth's father as Thomas OGLE, but I don't know how Thomas OGLE and James OGLE were related.) (Notice that I changed the thread title, as requested.) -- Teri Pettit

    2. In the list of children below, I believe Mariah was the daughter of William Dalton and Sarah Branscome. Not sure about Mildred, but all the rest look correct. 2. Can't add much to what has already been said, but here's a few tidbits; Sarah remarried Telemachus Marion Hull 07AUG1865 in Carroll. She was his first wife, but he would marry twice more before dying 26SEP1924. His parents were Thomas and Charlotte Hull from Surry Co, NC. Sarah died of consumption according to her death record. I believe a couple of kids are not correct in your listing; I believe Willard F. and Mildred were actually Millard Filmore Dalton who was born in 1854 and died in the 1860's. James Jefferson Dalton (11JAN1860 to 05APR1936) married Mary Jane Reynolds 20APR1882 in Carroll "e. darlene spencer" To: VACARROL-L@rootsweb.com <bluemoon@press cc: (bcc: Ronald W.
