The Galax Gazette printed a photograph of the newly formed Galax Woman's Club on the front page of the 10 March 1941 issue. It included the Galax club's officers and some members of the Hillsville Woman's Club. Does anyone have a copy of this photograph or any information pertaining to these two groups? None of my Galax contacts remember the organization. Thanks Judy

I'm curious whether anyone can confirm that Ellen Marshall, b. c1854, dau of Wm. & Rosamond (Puckett) Marshall, who married 1st Richard Friel Combs (his second) and separated or divorced, is the same Ellen Combs, who married 1902 in Raleigh Co, WV, to William Lee SIMMONS? I'm descended from Richard Friel Combs by his first wife, Millie Largin. Regards, Freddie S.
Hey Freddie If they divorced it sure didn't go thru Carroll Court. I checked my Chancery Records and didn't find anything. Can you not order the marriage from WV. That should tell who the parents were. Good Morning, Does anyone know whether there are transcribed census records on the net for Carroll County? If so, would you know the address? Does anyone belong to Ancestry.com, and is it worth joining? Are the records easily accessable? Thanks for your input. Jean Cuevas
Good Morning, According to court records, Sarah, John and Mary BEDSAUL were taken from Daniel and placed in other homes. Mary with her maternal grandparents Isaac and Catherine EDWARDS, and John and Sarah with the John GREEN family. Is anyone on the list a GREEN researcher? I am trying to find out what happened to Sarah BEDSAUL, and whether she may have been taken into the home of Elisha BEDSAUL, Jr., and wife Margaret Edwards BEDSAUL. Listed among their children is a Sarah just about the right age to be Daniel's daughter, and because Elisha BEDSAUL, Jr was a brother to Daniel, and his wife Margaret was a sister to Daniel's deceased wife, Catherine, it would be very logical for this couple to take in their neice. If you are related to this John GREEN family, I would love to hear from you. Thanks! Jean Mayfield Cuevas
If anyone has been to my webpage in the last year. You see my broken likes to pictures and info. Well I've fix most of all of them. So give a look at my family tree. The address is http://welcome.to/shrader Yours, Scott Shrader
Freddie Spradlin has the 1850, 1860, 1870 & 1880 Carroll Census on his pages at http://www.rootsweb.com/~vacarrol/carroll.htm They are highlighted down toward the bottom of the page. All you have to do is click on them! Good Luck!
