    1. [VACARROL] ALLEN THOMAS
    2. Hi, I was looking through the Pittsylvania Co VA Personal Property Tax lists and I came across some interesting information. On the tax list for 1795, there is an ALLEN THOMAS listed. He is listed for the first time right above JOHN THOMAS of Sugartree Creek. On the tax list for 1796, Allen is listed right under John and is listed as John's son. This with the 1825 listing of an Allen Thomas as an adult member of the Primitive Baptist church in Grayson Co VA leads me to think Allen Thomas who married Mary Ann Nester was either this man's son or nephew. Nancy could have been married to an older Allen Thomas or named her son after her brother. I would think though that if this Allen was the father of our Allen, why all the total silence and lack of info on who his parents were??? I have the next microfilm to look at and I will be able to tell when they leave Pittsylvania Co. Rachel
