Carter, Goodloe vs. John Pollett, et al Goodloe Carter states that George Carter published his will on 22 Apr 1799 and directed his executors to sell his land in Orange Co. and to purchase other lands to keep together his estate until his son, Goodloe Carter, should come of age and then he left to his wife, Frances Deanna Carter. He died soon afterwards and left his widow, Frances D. Carter and children viz Goodloe Carter, Joseph Carter and Phebe Carter. The widow became his administratrix and soon married John Pollett. Goodloe Carter is now of lawful age but Joseph Carter and Phebe Carter are still infants. No date Suit of Goodloe Carter for settlement of the estate. Dec. 1805 Court Records Box 1 Acc. # 26675 George Carter of St. Margaret.... 22 Apr 1789/....Directs that his lands in Orange Co. be sold. Wife Frances Dianna Carter and children (not named). (One child, Goodloe Carter, is underage.) Exors: Brother Benjamin Carter and John Stevens of Caroline and Henry Goodloe, Sr. Wit: Richard Willson, Josep h Carter and Phoebe Goodloe. Joseph Died. Children: of Abner Chapman and Phebe Carter Chapman: William S. Chapman, Joseph Chapman.
