    3. Dear Researchers, I am seeking information regarding the ancestry, siblings, and descendants of Richard WEST of Caroline County, Virginia. A highly educated man of distinction, Richard was "bound and apprenticed" to learn under Master William PEATROSS. In addition to a wholesome education Richard served as a juror in Caroline County, Virginia between 1732 and 1745. What I am aware of further is that a Richard West passed away in 1772, leaving the following children orphaned. The children were subsequently adopted by some definite and by some assumed members of the family. I would greatly appreciate any information and would gladly expound upon what is written here for those interested: ORPHANED CHILDREN OF RICHARD WEST Ignatius West - Guardian - Samuel Burruss John West - Guardian - William Peatross Joseph West - Guardian - William Young Ann West - Guardian - William Young William West - Guardian - Charles West Alice West - Guardian - Charles West Benjamin M. West bmwest@usit.net Richard was also chosen by an orphan named James Crutchfield to be his guardian: - February 8, 1759 - James Crutchfield, orphan of William Crutchfield, was allowed to choose a guardian, and he made the choice of Richard West. Anderson Lipscomb was appointed guardian to Margaret, George, and Thomas Crutchfield. Cordially yours, Ben West bmwest@usit.net
