Hello Caroline CO Researchers: I am STILL researching John Walden born about 1730 or shortly before; died 1794 who was the owner of "Walden Towers." His daughter Joanna married John Gayle, born 1840; died 1825. John Gayle's second wife was Betsy Pitt. Other surnames associated with Walden are Gatewood, Munday, Hughes, Estes, Vawter, Taylor, Bowcock, Puller. Known surnames associated with Gayle are Freeman, Burruss, Robertson, Minor, Dillard, Sanford, Broadus. I am researching some of the children's spouses since information from the burned records is of course, not available and this method is useful in finding more data on the various families.
