My face is very red; I had been thinking about the Carmel Baptist Church when I posted the note about Herb Collins speaking at the BETHEL BAPTIST CHURCH this last week. It is the Bethel Baptist Church that is celebrating its 200th birthday this year. The article from the Caroline Progress April 5, 2000 was quoted by Peg Price in the Apr 13, 2000 VACAROLI-D #62. It explained that the Bethel Church was organized in 1800 by Andrew Broaddus, pastor of the Burruss Church, now known as the Carmel Baptist Church. There were to be events on Apr 30th, July 9th, and Sept 17, 2000. Please forgive the typo and the distracted brain. Still, if anyone did attend the Bethel Church talk by Mr. Collins, I would gladly cover the costs of a tape copy or a copy of your notes and mailing. I am just hoping that I didn't send anyone on a goose chase looking for the wrong church! Carol
