Sparta is southeast of Bowling Green-- On a "gazeteer" type map like the ones fishermen buy, follow Highway 30l south from Bowling green until you see a road marked 721--that winds SE and then E to Sparta. On the GNIS list (http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisprod) it is designated as a populated place, latitude375930N and longitude 0771350W. I am not sure about the White Plains part, but on that same GNIS list, Whites (historical) is listed as a populated place at latitude 380216N and longitude 0771105W.
