Va Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Caroline?read=1528 Surname: Terrell, Woodson, Chiles, and, more ------------------------- I am one of those that went to the dedication. I live in California. A cousin and her husband and I went. It was WONDERFUL. To be where these families lived. To see the foundation of the meeting house and the headstones of family members was really exciting. In so many of the deeds and wills they talk of Polecat Creek in Caroline County, VA We found it!!! It is a pretty place. The dedication was touching. Our families were good, decent, honest people. Their stand against slavery was rare in those days. We all got together after the dedication and had lunch and did some show and tell of our families. I am so very, very glad that I was able to be there. I believe there is a newsletter in the making to keep us up to date as to how things are proceeding. If anyone is interested let me know via my e-mail address. We must be thankful for the people that got this going to name a few: Fay Wade, Virginia Lee Hutchins Davis and Lt. Col. James W. Doyle. Without them this meeting house and cemetery would already be gone. Bless them.
