A lifelong resident of Caroline County, she was the daughter of the late Clarah Wyatt and Lula Ann Prince Gayle, widow of Waverly James Terry and a member of Carmel Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Diane Satterwhite of Hanover; a son Arthur Terry of Woodford; a sister, Sadie Galyen of Chilesburg; two brothers, Lonnie Gayle of Fredericksburg and Berkley Gayle of Ruther Glen; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Elmer and James Terry. A graveside funeral service was held Friday, June 2, 2000 in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Nelson officiated.
