She was a member of St. John's Baptist Church and the widow of Booker T. Washington. She is survived by five daughers, Marion E. Monroe and Viola Childs, both of Ruther Glen; Lillian Pollard of St. Stephens Church; Arlene Seabrook and Marlene Washington, both of Philadelphia; two sons, Chester Washington of Ruther Glen and Harry Washington of Philadedelphia; a sister, Betty Lou Williams of Fredericksburg; two brothers, Joseph Wright of Newport News and and Thomas H. Wright of Little Rock, AR; 31 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. A funeral was held Saturday, May 20, 2000, at St. John's Baptist Church, Milford. The Rev. W.G. Berryman officiated and burial was to be in the church cemetery. C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Bowling Green, handled the arrangements.
