I lost two family members in three months back then and I am just now getting back to the real world. We don't know who Ann Brooks husband was for sure, If we could find the marriage we'd have it made. She had one son named Edward Jones born about 1805, then Mary Jones 1812. Lucinda Jones 1814, then her husband must die. We think she then md. Thomas Jones ca 1823, had Eliza Grace Jones 1824, Jane Jones 1826 and Elizabeth Jones 1827. In 1860 Ann is in Caroline with Fanny Jones age 80, and Elizabeth Jones, We have wondered since Ann named her only son Edward, could that mean something? In 1830 Ann is in Campbell, Va., 1840 in Caroline, but her grandson Thomas Henry Jones is in Chesterfield Co. and her grandau Tomatia is in Campbell in 1850. My grandfather tried to get this family done, he even went to Caroline and talked to the Negro Mammy who raised the children, but couldn't pin down the marr. He thought Anne's first husband might be a Jonas. I don't know if he means that as the surname or the first name. If he was looking at original records, he may have seen Jones spelled "Joanes". Only time will tell. Jean
