My great grand father was William Reily HOLLAND whom I have traced back to circa 1820 in Floyd County, Virginia. On 27 December 1843 he married Mary Jane (Polly) MOORE in adjoining Franklin County, Virginia. Since their first son was "John Henry HOLLAND," circa 1849 in Floyd County, Virginia. Following naming patterns -- William Reily Holland's father may have been a "John Henry HOLLAND." Although William Reily Holland's birth is circa 1820, I have been unable to locate his parents in adjoining Southwestern Virginia counties. There is a possibility that William Reily Holland was born to a "John Henry HOLLAND and unknown" in another area and when he was in his early 20's he migrated to Southwest Virginia, married Polly MOORE, and they had 13 children -- most of whom grew up, married, etc., and died in Virginia. Would you please search your data bases and see if you have a "John Henry HOLLAND," who about 1820 had a son "William R. (Reily) HOLLAND" who either (a.) migrated away from his birth place or (b.) about whom nothing is known. And/or (c.) a "William Reily HOLLAND" in your data base about whom nothing more is known. I seem to have hit a stone wall on where "William Reily HOLLAND" came from. Anxiously awaiting your posting!!! Irby Hollans in Fairfax, Virginia ihollans@laser.net
