    1. Long Family of Caroline County, VA
    2. Dear Researchers: I am a subscriber to Rootsweb's Long mail list in view of the fact that my 3rd great-grandparents were Cornelius Long (b. about 1829) of Caroline County who married Delilah Sale and Mary I. Long (b. 1827) of Caroline County who married William Thomas. There was an exchange of correspondence today between Bob Armstrong, Nancy Pope and I which I thought some of you would find helpful. To put the correspondence in sequence, read the letters in reverse order from the bottom. I'm still hoping that someone somewhere knows something to help me identify the parents of Cornelius and Mary. Joann Ellis Humphries Researching in Caroline County, VA: SALE, THOMAS, LONG, HAYNES, MARTIN, CRUTCHER, TOOMBS AND MANY OTHERS. ============================================================ Subj: Re: James Long Date: 01/27/2000 8:31:58 PM Eastern Standard Time From: bob-nita@neosoft.com (Robert E. Armstrong) To: JoannEllis@aol.com Dear Joann, I've searched the book, cover to cover, and not found a Cornelius Long. The copy I have was sent to me a year or more ago. It is only a small portion of the entire Long genealogy. Only four of Ware Long's sons lines (Christopher, Daniel, Ware II, and Henry) are expanded upon. The rest require contact with the LDS in Salt Lake. Ask for microfilm of the following: [ US/CAN 929.273L85 lon ] It is mainly the line of the son, Nicholas. There is very little information available on the other children, John, Reuben, James, and the daughters, Ann (Nancy) Long and the unnamed daughter. Apparently only the first two sons, Christopher and John were born in Caroline County, VA and they are noted as "probably" born there. Daniel, Ware II, and the rest were born in Culpeper County, VA. You can share this information with anyone you like.
