State Troops. 24 Dec. 1829 [source: Legislative Petitions 1777-1797 Caroline County Court Records and Marriages, 1787-1819 by William Lindsay Hopkins] Wills found in other sources, same book stated above: Matthew Mills of St. Margaret's Parish...10 Jul 1753/9 Aug. 1753...Two daughters Mary Mills and Betty Mills 650 acres in Albemarle Co. next to Henry Terrell. Wife Mary Mills (formerly wife of Micajah Chiles, decd. who died in 1734). Four sons viz William Mills, Matthew Mills, Charles, Mills, and Menan Mills 1665 acres in Albemarle Co. (Menan Mills and Charles Mills are not of lawful age.) Exors: Son William Mills and Charles Mills of Hanover Co.
