I believe I gave his home address which was the one given to me by a librarian, and I feel Mr. Scheel would rather us use the following: Click on: N VCC Telephone Directory - Scheel, Eugene M. The next one is on his backgound: Smithsonia n Local Study Tours: Study Leader Eugene Scheel June --part1_a8.953a6cc.26cc367a_boundary Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline Return-Path: <VACULPEP-L-request@rootsweb.com> Received: from rly-zb03.mx.aol.com (rly-zb03.mail.aol.com [172.31.41.3]) by air-zb03.mail.aol.com (v75_b3.11) with ESMTP; Wed, 16 Aug 2000 11:53:19 -0400 Received: from lists5.rootsweb.com (lists5.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.123]) by rly-zb03.mx.aol.com (v75_b3.9) with ESMTP; Wed, 16 Aug 2000 11:52:38 -0400 Received: (from slist@localhost) by lists5.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id e7GFpfK19596; Wed, 16 Aug 2000 08:51:41 -0700 Resent-Date: Wed, 16 Aug 2000 08:51:41 -0700 X-Original-Sender: SallyBaughn@aol.com Wed Aug 16 08:51:41 2000 From: SallyBaughn@aol.com Message-ID: <99.8f1db1f.26cc127f@aol.com> Date: Wed, 16 Aug 2000 11:51:27 EDT Old-To: VACULPEP-L@rootsweb.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 5.0 for Windows sub 112 Subject: [VACULPEP] Re: Spelling Resent-Message-ID: <Mkr_1.A.-xE.Nirm5@lists5.rootsweb.com> To: VACULPEP-L@rootsweb.com Resent-From: VACULPEP-L@rootsweb.com Reply-To: VACULPEP-L@rootsweb.com X-Mailing-List: <VACULPEP-L@rootsweb.com> archive/latest/5777 X-Loop: VACULPEP-L@rootsweb.com Precedence: list Resent-Sender: VACULPEP-L-request@rootsweb.com Jumping back into the fray. The problem I saw had nothing to do with correcting spelling. As an article in Parade magazine mentioned on Sunday (paraphrased): If you are a good speller you are probably highly intelligent; but you may be highly intelligent and not be a good speller. If you have lower intelligence, you are probably not a good speller; but you may be a bad speller and not have low intelligence. I read such phrases as: "come down off your throne" :people who may not have your almighty ability" "SO JUST KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF AND NOT ANSWER IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS FAMILY!" "If your so stupid that you can't figure out who Im looking for than you should just MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!" and was appalled that anyone on our list would speak to another member in this way. I did (and do) consider these flames. The matter of spelling is quite another issue.
