Sutton states that he had a mill about two miles from Burke's Bridge and that William C. Clayton helped to rebuild the mill after it burned Chancery Suits. April 22, 1737. Robert Lewis and ______his wife, daughter of William Sutton, state that William Sutton left a will in which he devised to his wife, Sarah Sutton, and to his five children viz Norborne Ellsy Sutton, John Sutton, Betty Sutton, Sarah Dudley Sutton and Lucy Carter Sutton. Dec. 1799 John Sutton, Executor of William Sutton, decd. states that William Sutton was indebted to Joseph Sutton as early as 1791 and that William Sutton died about 20 May 1796. At the time of his death, William Sutton was indebted to John. Reference is made to "Mr. John Sutton the testators Father" and to Capt.
