Just be wary - not all books are created equal - and if the book does not have resources other than other books, etc., its not a resource by itself. So many of the book written about the Herndon family have been proven very incorrect and most use one book, that in itself was incorrect, as the resource. Yes, its difficult to find good records from Colonial Virginia - and the burned counties... but take what you find on the WWW or Ancestry or in a 'book' with a grain of salt - use it as a 'tip' and go about proving it for yourself... Unfortunately most of it cannot be proven so we have to take what can be and go from there.
