They are my great-grandparents. My grandfather was Aubrey Derricotte (son of Joseph) and my father is Earl Derricotte of Caroline County. My family still lives in Caroline County and I would love to be of any assistance.

... Laberta W. "Bertie" JONES. Found in the 1860 census - out of parents' home in 1870. She was born abt 1849 in VA. Daughter of Charles W. and Mildred YATES JONES. She gave birth to Charles Henry ENGARD who is said to be "one of thirteen children". We DO NOT know the name of Charles' father. Apparently, Laberta never married the ENGARD. However, she is said to have married a WARRINER and a SPEAR. I do not have access to court records. Can anyone assist? Further information would be a plus. Gerre Engard Byrd
