(I am very new at this). Even though I still cannot connect John Buckner to John Buckner Wright, Your information merged well with the notes my mother assembled back in the 1980s. When John Buckner Wright married his wife, Sarah Elizabeth, she was already a Wright, so no name change was necessary for her. Instead of a Brooks like her mother's maiden name, I'd want to call her Sarah Elizabeth (Wright) Wright. My mother listed the children of John Buckner Wright (my G-G-Grandad) by their familiar names. She only knew of 5 in her lifetime: (1) Fannie Sue or Susie (married Valvin Loving) (2) Carrie Belle (married Upper Zion Postmaster Frank Houston) (3) Annie Lee (married Ruffin Henderson, had Webb and Gladys) (4) John Wright (married Dell Penney, then Frankie Gray (?)) (5) Eddie Baughnum Wright (married Rockie Parr - no children) One little mystery remains. When JBW married the widow Nancy, what was the last name of her children? By 1910 JBW was 72 with two young teenage girls on his hands, Alice and Nannie. I'm just wondering if these could be Alice and Nellie Ward that my great-grandfather, a Carter in Bowling Green, took into his home.
