My research on the Vaugh(a)s in South Carolina have peaked my interest in Caroline Co., VA. There are three Rev War Soldiers of main interest. 1. JOEL VAUGHAN - On 1790 Federal SC Census - moved on with daughter but also lived to be over 104l d. MS - REV WAR "of Caroline Co., VA." on pension application. 2. THOMAS VAUGHAH - Drew pension in Spartanburg Co., SC - "of Caroline Co., VA." 3. JOHN VAUGHAN - Drew pension in Spartanburg Co., SC - very little data on pension application so don't know if from Caroline Co., VA, or not. Thomas and John are on the 1840 Spartanburg Federal Census and listed as Rev War Soldiers. All three given names run through my family so I'm really stumped and have hit my brick wall.
