I have since acquired a book titled: "People, Postoiffices and Communities in Caroline County, Virginia 1727-1969" by Ralph Emmett Fall. On pg. 91 it says: "Locust Grove," a frame house, 1-1/2 stories, five rooms, was erected c. 1840-1850, about a mile south of Central Point, on Rt. 625. Owners: Willis Pitts; George Loving (March 17, 1875), Robert N. & Alarice L. Butler (March 18, 1875); Rolander N. Butler, son (March 14, 1919, & owner in 1937). Robert N. Butler was 1st Lieutenant under Capt. Wilson in the Civil War. Meat & other possessions were taken from the house at that time, by passing Union troops. The author's note for that section references W.P.A., Vol. 2, Selma Farmer, Sept. 27, 1937; Rolander N. Butler, Central Point. Samuel Fauntleroy Rouse is listed as a farmer in Central Point in a 1906 directory. I'm not sure what information you may already have but I'd be glad help where I can. Carter Skinner
Carter, I've seen this book in the LDS library. Would you mind letting me know where you bought it? I'd like to have a copy too -- I found it very interesting.
