    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IBC.2ACI/2474.13.1 Message Board Post: Sam, From the History of Caroline Co Va by Wingfield. The Scott family was written in length. I do see a couple of John's. A John son of Captain Jack Scott and Elizabeth Brumskill. The next reference is a John Walter Scott married to a Gabriella Bosher, they had 4 children, Gabriella, Rosa, Mary and John Walter Jr. There is a John married to Caroline Skinker (don't know if this is the above mentioned John). Another son of Capt. Jack is Harrod Brumskill Scott, who married Sarah Jordan Christian and had among others a son John. This family earliest mention is 1487 with Sir Richard Scott of Scotland. If you are interested in this material, please send me your snail mail address and I will gladly copy it for you. From the Early settlers in Va by Thelma Bastow: From the Roster of the Lost Colony of Sir Walter Raleigh Circa 1587 Thomas Scott. From the list of first planter to the colony a Nicholas Skot. From a passenger list arriving 1608 is a Scot (surname only) labeled as a laborer. From a list of names of persons living in the Virginia Colony James Citte ,on February 16,1623, a Henry Scott. And living on the Eastern Shore a Goodwife Scott and a Walter Scott, February 16, 1623. Hope this aids in your search Elaine
