I am searching the Burden line for my husband. Would appreciate the opportunity to share info. I have found a Caroline County, VA, order book entry(page 107) for the Court held June, 1778, in which James Burden is petitioning the court for support for himself and his family, as he is infirm and incapable of supporting himself, by reason of his three sons going into the service of the U.S. He was granted 15lb. At a court held July 1779, 20 lb. was alloted for Sarah Burden, whose son died in the service of the U.S. I assume this is the wife/widow of the above James. I hope this is of interest to you, and hopefully you can add to my knowledge of this family.
