Winter is the best time to avoid snakes in VA. A friend just found a black snake in her bedroom closet. Scary. Tiffany - Snakes can be active until the first freeze although most are holed up for the winter by mid November. We can still have shirt sleeve weather through November here - and I am not even going to consider looking for my ancestor's property until January! The only poisonous snake we have locally is the copperhead - although there are diamondback rattlers in the mountains - my motto: only a dead snake is a good snake! We just killed a black snake with a mouth full of baby wrens! ;-( Diane ----- Original Message ----- From: Edith Fensom To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2005 11:37 AM Subject: [VACAROLI] Re:Locust Grove, 1 mi.
