I have also hit a rock in trying to go further back on John Newton Harper, Sr., born in 1740 and married August 24, 1772 to Margaret Morrow, born in 1750. I show John being born in Caroline County, Virginia and Margaret born in Orange County, North Carolina. I know Caroline County Courthouse burned down in the early 1800's, so I've had a terrible time trying to find John's parents names. I've also heard that Margaret was born on the ocean but have been unable to prove that as have found info on her family. Any help on John's parents would be greatly appreciated. Know it is really late now but a Harper/Crosweight/Crosswhite family reunion is being held in Mountain City, Tennessee on July 3 ..., any descendents are very welcome to come.
