Ladies, Today I noticed that in 2003 you were discussing Chandler and Tanners and mentioned my article that included John Chandler of Chowan County who d. ca. 1717, his son John and one of the latter's guardians, William Tanner. Much to my regret, I must report to you that DNA testing has shown that if those two Chandler were indeed my ancestors they are NOT connected in the male line to family of 1610 immigrant John Chandler. While it is technically possible my line could still connect to 1610 John with a female link in my genealogy, I think that is very unlikely. Have you learned how your ancestor John Chandler Awbrey got his middle name? I don't see it in every reference to him and middle names were VERY unusual that early in time. Thanks. jc
