I am the grgrgrgranddaughter of a William Herndon b.1706 in King and Queen Co.Va and died 1783 in Orange Co.Va Orange County is right next to Fluvanna Co.Va He was the Father of Joseph Herndon b. abt. 1739 in Caroline County d.april 26,Fluvanna County,Va Joseph Herndon and Susanna Haislip were the parents of David Herndon b.1788 in Fluvanna Co.Va David was married more than once. He and Polly Murray m.Oct. 8.1818 were the parents of my grgrandmother Mary A. Herndon b.1823 She was married to David Robinson who was born abt. 1789 I do not know much about David Robinson ,except that before marrying Mary Herndon he was married to Mary Hodges, dau. of Jesse Hodges , in Goochland Co.Va He also enlisted in the war of 1812 there.He and Mary Hodges had several children who later lived with their Father in Fluvanna co.VA Mary A. Herndon Robinson received a pension and bouty warrants for his service in the war of 1812 Their dau.Rebecca Ann Robinson b.1853was married to John Walker Pace b. 1843 in Fluvanna co.Va John Walker Pace and Rebeccca Robinson b.1853 were my grandparents Their dau. (Caroline County Order Book) - December 8, 1738 - Edward West appeared in court. - 1741 - James Young, servant of Bartholomew West, escaped. - April 8, 1743 - John Hamilton against Thomas West. Judgment is granted the plaintiff for 1.6.3 ½ pounds.
